Leviticus Morality Laws
Leviticus 18:4-23, Ye shall do My judgments, and keep Mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God. 5 Ye shall therefore keep My statutes, and My judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.
6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the Lord. 7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shall thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 The nakedness of thy father’s wife shall thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness. 9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shall not uncover. 10 The nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or of thy daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness thou shall not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. 11 The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shall not uncover her nakedness. 12 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she is thy father’s near kinswoman. 13 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman. 14 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shall not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. 15 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son’s wife; thou shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: it is thy brother’s nakedness. 17 Thou shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shall thou take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness. 18 Neither shall thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time. 19 Also thou shall not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. 20 Moreover thou shall not lie carnally with thy neighbor’s wife, to defile thyself with her. 21 And thou shall not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shall thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord. 22 Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shall thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
Leviticus 19:11-37, Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. 12 And ye shall not swear by My name falsely, neither shall thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord. 13 Thou shall not defraud thy neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
14 Thou shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling-block before the blind, but shall fear thy God: I am the Lord. 15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shall thou judge thy neighbor. 16 Thou shall not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shall thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor; I am the Lord.
17 Thou shall not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shall in any wise rebuke thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. 18 Thou shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.
19 Ye shall keep My statutes. Thou shall not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shall not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee.
20 And whosoever lies carnally with a woman, that is a bond-maid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. 21 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering. 22 And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he has done: and the sin which he has done shall be forgiven him.
23 And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. 24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the Lord withal. 25 And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the Lord your God.
26 Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times. 27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shall thou mar the corners of thy beard. 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
29 Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. 30 Ye shall keep My sabbaths, and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord.
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
32 Thou shall rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord. 33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. 34 But the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shall love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in measure. 36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37 Therefore shall ye observe all My statutes, and all My judgments, and do them: I am the Lord.
Deuteronomy
Example of Leviticus 19:23, “And when ye shall come into the land,” We also see here a change in diet requirements [not as strict] for after the children of Israel are living in their land. So some laws were meant for the journey to the promise land and others were for when they reached the promise land. Leviticus 19:23, “And when ye shall come into the land,“
Jesus freed us from the diet requirement in the law.
Matthew 15:10-11, And He called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
Deuteronomy 12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. 9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God gives you. 10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God gives you to inherit, and when He gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; 11 Then there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there; there shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the Lord: 12 And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he has no part nor inheritance with you. 13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou see: 14 But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shall offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shall do all that I command thee. 15 Notwithstanding thou may kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusts after, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which He has given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart. 16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
17 Thou may not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vow, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand: 18 But thou must eat them before the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shall rejoice before the Lord thy God in all that thou put thine hands unto. 19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou live upon the earth.
20 When the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy border, as He has promised thee, and thou shall say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longs to eat flesh; thou may eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusts after. 21 If the place which the Lord thy God has chosen to put His name there be too far from thee, then thou shall kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the Lord has given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shall eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusts after. 22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shall eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike. 23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou may not eat the life with the flesh. 24 Thou shall not eat it; thou shall pour it upon the earth as water. 25 Thou shall not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shall do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
