The Canaan Woman
God is great and shows mercy to who He will when He will. Through faith, all things are possible. The woman from Canaan cried out to Jesus for mercy, she knew Jesus had the power to save her daughter, but Jesus didn’t answer her. The disciples wanted to have her removed because Jesus didn’t respond to her. Now Jesus didn’t respond to her right away because she wasn’t a part of His church, Judaism. Jesus is the head of the church and came to offer the bread to His church members first and later offer it to the world by laying His life down on the cross. And it just wasn’t time to give the bread to the world yet. The bread is spiritual gifts and spiritual learning.
When Jesus responds and tells her that it wouldn’t be fitting to fulfill her request; because it’s the children of Israel’s time to receive the bread. But she is so desperate for the Lord to heal her daughter. And she knows Jesus can heal her daughter; she begins to worship Jesus, saying, “Lord, help me.” Jesus tells her it’s not right to give His children’s bread to the dogs. The dogs are those outside His church, Judaism. She responds, “Yes, Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” This woman is so desperate for the Lord to help her, she is in tears; pouring her heart and soul out to Him. She admits she isn’t worthy or deserving of anything; she is just begging Him for a crumb for her daughter, from her master’s table. Not the whole loaf, just a crumb.
It takes faith, humility, and knowledge that her hope lies in the hands of the Lord. She doesn’t care who’s around; she is determined to seek God and petition Him for her daughter’s sake. God, Jesus, shows us His great compassion, love, and mercy as He grants this woman’s request. God always rewards faith and will never turn away the faithful.
The same spiritual bread spoken of here is the same bread Jesus is telling us to pray for in the Lord’s prayer. The Lord’s Prayer teaches us to seek Him for our spiritual learning. He wants us to speak to Him with the respect that He is due. And reverence Him and His name, for His name is power. We need to be mindful to ask Him always to keep us from temptation and deliver us from evil. We need to remember to forgive others for their trespasses against us; so we can be forgiven, as well.
The Lord’s Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13, [prayer only]
Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debt, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Understand, Spiritual healing isn’t for non-believers, it’s for only the faithful in Jesus Christ. So, if you ever pray for someone to be healed and they didn’t get healed, depending on the circumstances, it was not your fault. That’s right, the problem wasn’t necessarily with you; it might have been their lack of faith preventing them from getting healed.
Matthew 7:6, Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Acts14:9-10, The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
The Lord’s Prayer [pray in the morning]
Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed is Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will is done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debt, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

- [ 9 ] begin with respect and praise “Our Father” and “Hallowed is your name” or “Holy is your name” [10] you are acknowledging through faith that Jesus is coming back and God is sovereign in earth as in heaven [11] you are asking God for spiritual teaching and healing the things that are needed to be saved [12] forgive our sins as we forgive those that sin against us [13] requesting protection from the tricks of the devil, because God has the power over all things including the devil.

- By praying this prayer you will receive protection and blessings. This is why you want to pray this at the start of your day… but you should pray three times a day. Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.
